Thèmes de recherche

I am a researcher in the fields of interactions and nonverbal communication, with strong formal training in experimental psychology, music, and a wealth of international, interdisciplinary lab experience. I am particularly interested in approaching scientifically the relationship between vocal prosody and music. During my doctoral studies, I added a developmental approach to this subject.

I am currently cooperating with English researchers from the universities of Manchester and Cambridge to study common underlying neural mechanisms between music-making and speech by using hyperscanning (simultaneous EEG). I am also concluding the first two studies of a research programme aiming to characterise and understand the nonverbal aspects of infant-directed speech directed at persons with intellectual disabilities, in collaboration with Colombian and Chilean colleagues from the Millennium Institute for Care Research (MICARE). Finally, I am acting as Guest Editor along with professor Harry Freeman from the University of South Dakota, in an effort to deepen and systematise current knowledge on the interactional aspects of the early stages of attachment formation.
